The blinking lights problem in the washing machine can be solved by replacing some of the capacitors. In this tutorial I explain how to identify a defective capacitor. In addition, the tutorial shows how to identify the polarity of an electrolytic capacitor so it can be placed correctly back on the board. This tutorial assumes the person trying to fix the machine has no previous knowledge of electronics. In this case I replaced the 3 capacitors although only 2 were defective, I would recommend you to replace the 3 of them to prevent any future problems.
